The two are so closely tied; if you don’t believe me, remember what happened to the economy after the tragic events of 9/11. The reverse is also true, if our budget deficit and national debt continue to balloon, it becomes a threat to our national security.

Monday, January 4th, 2010Sen. Bob Graham and I authored an Op-Ed in today’s Washington Post that sounds a urgent message on bioterrorism preparedness and response. The government should learn from the mistakes of H1N1 and take appropriate measures to protect Americans from a bioterrorism event.
Remember our Commission’s unanimous finding: the threat of bioterrorism is growing and will become a probability by 2013.
