Majority of Americans remain opposed to proposed health care reform bill

Two new polls released today reveal that a majority of Americans remain opposed to the proposed health care bill being considered in the Senate.  According to the Rasmussen poll, 53% of Americans are opposed and 41% support it.  A Gallup poll reports that 49% are opposed and just 44% are in favor.

Today the Senate will start debate on the bill proposed by Majority Leader Harry Reid.  This bill will create an expansive new government program, undermine the current health care system and burden future generations with a mountain of debt – and most Americans don’t want it!

I agree – there are flaws in our current health care system, but throwing government money at the problem doesn’t fix it.   Measured reforms guided by free market principles, like association health plans, are a far better solution.
